Psychotherapy in English in Kraków
We offer psychodynamic psychotherapy in English for adults as well as psychotherapy for couples. You do not need to know in advance what kind of help you need. The first consultations are a space to understand your difficulties, discuss your expectations and decide together what form of therapy may be appropriate.
You can begin with a consultation even if you are not yet sure what kind of therapy would be right for you.
Individual psychodynamic psychotherapy in English
During individual psychodynamic psychotherapy you are encouraged to explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships and recurring patterns. The therapeutic relationship itself can become an important source of information about the way you experience yourself and other people.
The aim is not only to reduce current distress, but also to develop a deeper understanding of the sources of your difficulties. This may help you recognise patterns that no longer serve you, understand your emotional needs and gradually develop more flexible ways of coping with life, relationships and internal conflict.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy creates space to understand not only what is difficult now, but also why certain emotional and relational patterns keep returning.
What can you bring to psychotherapy?
You do not need a formal diagnosis in order to seek psychotherapy. Some people come because they are experiencing clear symptoms, while others feel stuck in relationships, overwhelmed by stress or unable to understand why the same difficulties keep repeating.
We offer psychotherapy for anxiety, stress, depression, illness and bereavement, trauma, relationship difficulties and personal development.
Psychotherapy may be helpful with:
- anxiety and persistent tension,
- depression and low mood,
- stress and feeling overwhelmed,
- relationship and interpersonal difficulties,
- past traumatic experiences,
- illness, loss and bereavement,
- difficulties understanding your own needs and emotions,
- repeating patterns that affect your relationships or daily life,
- a wish to understand yourself more deeply and develop greater self-awareness.
What happens during the first consultations?
Your reasons for coming
We begin by discussing what brings you to therapy and what is currently most difficult for you.
Your history and context
The therapist asks about relevant life experiences, relationships, symptoms and previous treatment.
Understanding your needs
Together you consider the nature of the difficulties and what kind of therapeutic work may be useful.
Treatment plan
If psychotherapy is indicated, you discuss the goals, practical framework and next steps.
Individual psychotherapy begins with diagnostic consultations the beginning of individual therapy as a series of diagnostic meetings used to identify difficulties, discuss expectations and prepare a treatment plan. The exact number of consultations can depend on your individual situation.
Couples psychotherapy in English
Couples psychotherapy focuses on the relationship as a whole. Difficulties are explored not only as problems belonging to one partner, but also as patterns that develop between two people and are influenced by their histories, expectations, roles and broader family or social context.
Therapy can help partners recognise recurring interaction patterns, understand how each person's reactions affect the other and create more room for flexible and constructive ways of relating.
Couples often seek help with:
- communication difficulties,
- feeling misunderstood or emotionally distant,
- feeling stuck in recurring conflict,
- starting a family or adjusting to parenthood,
- affairs and loss of trust,
- separation or divorce,
- bereavement and major life changes.
A relational perspective
The therapist helps both partners examine the dynamic they create together rather than deciding who is right or wrong. The focus is on understanding the relationship, identifying patterns and exploring what can change.
